“I have come to know Arlington over the 71 years I have lived here (I came here with my parents when I was 4). And I care deeply about Arlington. I know that we need smart, reliable, experienced and committed people on our County Board. I know JD and he is my #1 choice.

JD is my #1 choice for many reasons. He has experience and he is committed to serving Arlington and our community. I have known him since 2015. I went to the ceremony for his de-commissioning from the Marines in 2016 (after 26 years of service). He spoke enthusiastically about his commitment to continuing to work for his country and for Arlington.

He stepped up to be president of NAACP Arlington Branch for 4 years (2018-2022). But his caring and commitment are not limited to NAACP. The list of local groups he has been involved in is impressive and proof of his wanting to help, his recognition and understanding of diverse perspectives and determination to stay involved in community service. His goals are to help expand equitable access to opportunities like education as well as other improvements to do his part to make Arlington a better place.
